About The Radiant Spectrum
The Radiant Spectrum (TRS) is the first and only Music Education Centre in Singapore that conducts music lessons specifically for children with special needs. Our teachers are all SPED-trained and specialise in working with children and young adults aged 4 – 20 with a wide range of diagnoses such as children who are non-verbal, selectively mute, with ADHD, or on the autism ASD spectrum. Get to know more about our dedicated educators here.
We understand that each student is unique and has their own learning needs. These needs and behaviours are first identified during our Trial Assessment. Subsequent Music Lessons follow a highly customisable in-house curriculum to maximise each child’s learning potential. You can find out more about our pedagogy here. Our educators employ various types of learning supports and routine building during lessons (Read: 3Vs of Developing Effective Tasks for Children with Special Needs, Using Work Systems for Children with Special Needs).

Our Story
Principal and Founder, Samantha Soh, has over a decade of experience in conducting music lessons and spent the latter half focusing on children with special needs. (Read: How I Began Teaching Autistic Children) During this time, she saw how learning to play an instrument has greatly benefitted the development of her students and provided them with a meaningful lifelong skill. (Read: Why is the Piano Suitable for Children with Autism?). She also noticed that there was no music school in Singapore at that time that has a specific music curriculum that is tailored to teach children with special needs. More often than not, these children were taught as if they were difficult-to-manage students. Thus, Samantha set out to start The Radiant Spectrum to make music education accessible to students with special needs so that they can grow and thrive through learning music.

“My daughter is an autistic child with limited speech and attention span. She likes music and singing. I always wanted her to learn piano but it is not easy to find a special needs music teacher and fun.”
Camilla Raj
“Teacher Samantha is able to customise her teaching resources to the child’s interests and more importantly, she is patient and encouraging.”
