A Letter to Myself with CNA938

  • by

On 7 Sep 2026, our founder and Principal, Samantha, joined host Joel Chua on CNA938’s ‘A Letter to Myself’ to reflect on her journey in music and entrepreneurship, the experiences that shaped her, and her hopes for the future.

Samantha recounted her journey learning and teaching the piano and how she met her first student with special needs. Through that encounter, Samantha realized that she wanted to help these children learn music, and since there was no music school that specifically catered to these children, she founded The Radiant Spectrum in 2021.

In the second part, Samantha shared three messages that she’d share with her younger self.

“Success looks different for everyone.”

Every child progresses at their own pace. Some may play an entire song independently by themselves, while others may still be playing single notes on the piano. This continues to be a central belief that The Radiant Spectrum carries.

“You can weather the storm.”

Samantha recounted her childhood experience when her late father passed. This experience molded her resilience as she grew older and when faced with tough situations, she knows that she will “get through it.”

“Empathy is not a weakness.”

In her last message to her younger self, she shared that being empathetic was not something that she needed to overcome. Now, she uses it as fuel to drive her forward, and to help students who are facing difficulties in their learning.

Remembering why we started

Before ending the interview, Samantha was asked to deliver a message to her future self. She hopes that her future self will “still celebrate the small wins” and “remember why you started in the first place.”

A big thank you to CNA938 and Joel Chua for the opportunity to share Samantha’s story, and the purpose behind The Radiant Spectrum.
